The mission of the Cyber Institute is to engage in community relations, non-credit granting education and foster technical research efforts under the direction of the Dean School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. The Cyber Institute’s vision is to attract top students to the School’s degree programs and top research initiatives to our talented faculty. The Cyber Institute is also engaged in a variety of K-12 cyber education efforts, such as the GenCyber summer cybersecurity camp experience for high school students and the CodeHoppers Club for 6th – 12th grade girls.

The Cyber Institute is also evolving into the School’s hub for technical research, to include our emerging research effort into election system security in partnership with the Office of the Georgia Secretary of State.

Cyber Institute Programs

GenCyber

 A year-round engagement program funded by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation. Augusta University’s GenCyber program features a summer camp open to high school junior and seniors. The goal of GenCyber is to inspire the next generation of cyber stars.

CodeHoppers

 The goal of our CodeHoppers Club is to inspire and encourage girls to pursue computing related professions. The Cyber Institute sponsors an after-school club for girls, ages 6th-12th grades.

Applied Research

The Cyber Institute is becoming a center for applied research in cybersecurity, including our developing work in election systems security with Georgia's Secretary of State's office.
